Branch information
There are 364 Branches in the UK and 1,925 Branches overseas.
Each
branch covers a specified area and runs according to the Rules of The Pony Club.
Branches are largely self-governing
and self-supporting, administered by a voluntary District Commissioner and Branch Committee.
Activities
Each Branch organises a full programme of working rallies and
other fixtures which may take place during school holidays and weekends.
These include competitions, an annual
camp, visits and social events. The overriding aim is to make membership informative and fun.
In the summer Inter-Branch Events are held which encourage team
work and promote pride in the Branch, leading to National Championships in August.
These include Horse Trials, Mounted Games, Polocrosse, Show Jumping,
Dressage, Tetrathlon and a Polo Tournament. They are all very popular.
Test Certificates:
Members
are encouraged to take an interest in their work and improve their knowledge by working towards certificates awarded by The
Pony Club.
There are eight graded standards starting with the 'D' Test
and culminating with the highly regarded 'A' Test, taken when a member is around 19 or 20 years old. A Road Safety Test is
part of the C Test Certificate.
